I want to support the Coalition another way.
Purple Gala proceeds benefit the WV Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
More than a third of women (36%) and more than a quarter of men (29%) have experienced physical violence by an intimate partner in their lifetimes – and more than 40% of both women and men have experienced psychological abuse. About 1 in 15 children are exposed to domestic abuse each year, and 90% are direct eyewitnesses. People who are poor, people of color, LGBTQIA+ individuals, seniors, people with disabilities, and other vulnerable populations are disproportionately affected, facing abuse that is more frequent, more severe, or both.
Domestic violence is truly a public health crisis… but together we can work to prevent this violence. Please celebrate the efforts of the people doing this work in West Virginia by attending the 41st Annual Purple Gala.
